Conquering the North Coast 500 on the all-electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire
COMBINE THE untamed wilderness of Scotland’s famous North Coast 500 coastal road and adventurous brothers, the Turner Twins, with two all-electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire motorcycles and Belstaff motorcycle kit, and you get an awe-inspiring film that’s enough to make every biker start planning their two-wheeled staycation. We love it, and we reckon you will, too.
The film, which premiered on the Harley-Davidson UKI YouTube channel, perfectly captures the remote, rugged terrain, breathtakingly beautiful panoramas and surprisingly unfamiliar, adventure-drenched landscapes of the NC500.
Known as Europe’s Route 66, Scotland’s NC500 coastal road offers unrivalled landscapes that attract visitors from across the globe. And experiencing the 820km route on Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric motorcycles enabled brothers Ross and Hugo to truly absorb and appreciate all of the sights and sounds of their surroundings, while tackling some firmly held preconceptions around EV.
Despite having enjoyed previous electric motorcycle exploits, this trip – completed just ahead of the most recent UK lockdown – was Ross and Hugo’s first LiveWire adventure, and it didn’t disappoint. Speaking of the experience, Hugo couldn’t stop grinning as he told Bikers Nod: “Amazing! Far better than we could ever have expected,” with Ross adding: “The bikes are just so light and responsive. They sound pretty cool too and because they’re much quieter than traditional Harley-Davidson motorcycles, you get to experience so much more – riding so close to a huge, proud stag was completely surreal.”
